On Saturday 15th February 2020, we held the ‘Hush Hush Art Auction’ .  This was a fundraising auction of original postcard-sized artworks by established and leading artists, illustrators and designers, and emerging artists. Our guests at the 5th Anniversary Celebration of the Joel Prince Starlight Fund were given a chance to get their hands on original works of art for a small donation. Each postcard was only signed on the back, so those taking part didn’t know the identity of the artists until after the auction winners had been announced.

The names of all the artists have now been revealed on the Gallery.

We were absolutely thrilled with the response received by artists all over the country and send our love and gratitude to all those who have supported us.

 

The impressive line-up included:

​

Sarah J Harper - an artist working in a variety of mediums, she produces contemporary art and crafts in a variety of mediums. With a passion for mosaic and ceramics, Sarah also creates money art using mixed media. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including the Saatchi Gallery, Tate Modern, and Tate Britain in London, and The Wien Museum in Austria.

Sal Jones  - Sal’s fascination with painting focuses on our relationship with representation; particularly with regard to human expression and communication. Sal has exhibited widely in London and the UK, and has had two solo shows in the last two years in Hertfordshire and London. Her work is held in private collections in the UK and internationally.

 

Gavin Turk – Internationally renowned artist, he has pioneered many forms of contemporary British sculpture. Turk’s work has been collected and exhibited by many major museums and galleries throughout the world. His cutting edge, contemporary art deals with issues of authorship, authenticity and identity.

​

John Wood and Paul Harrison – make single-channel videos, multi-screen video installations, prints and sculptures that elegantly fuse conceptual exploration with existential comedy. Distinguished contemporary artists, they have exhibited extensively in France and the USA. Their works form part of the collections of the Tate, Centre Pompidou and MOMA.
