It Starts With the Will to Make a Difference
While Joel was still in hospital undergoing treatment, we approached Joel's consultant for more information on AT/RTs and any studies carried out to find a cure. We were horrified to discover that of the small number of studies (three were given to us over the last 5 years) there were no survivors of Spinal AT/RTS in the whole world. We then asked "What will it take to find a cure? How much money is needed for research or clinical trials?" The answer we received was "...over a million".
