An Awesome Evening of Music and Entertainment

It is five years since Conrad and I experienced the most tragic event in our lives, the loss of our youngest son, Joel, to an extremely rare form of childhood cancer, an Atypical Teratoid/ Rhabdoid Tumour (AT/RT).  Joel brought so much brightness and joy to us all in his short life. A child, unlike any other, whose smile would light up the room and melt the heart of anyone who saw him. He was intelligent beyond his years, had an intensely caring nature and whose last wish was for those he loved to "Be Happy".

One month after Joel died, in February 2015, we contacted the Children’s Cancer & Leukaemia Group, and with their help and support, we set up a Special Named fund in Joel’s honour, the Joel Prince Starlight Fund, to raise funds to support Research and Clinical trials, as there are currently none to support this rare type of childhood cancer.

To date, with massive support from our family, friends and incredible range of fundraisers, we have raised over £100,000!!!

We would like to thank Vice Chancellor, Professor Sue Rigby for donating the use of the Michael Tippet Centre at Bath Spa University. We are also incredibly grateful to Park Lane Big Band and Bristol Fashion Chorus for donating their time and musical skills to help make the evening a big success.
